A cabin in the trees! The Treehouse Cabin is suspended above the Nourish Creek area, providing not just a good view of the mountain ridge but also of the wildlife below.
The cabin was built on an aluminum frame and pulled up into the trees using a few cables. These cables were secured to the trees to keep it suspended. Looking at the cabin and the effort that went into constructing it, you can appreciate the time and dedication involved in suspending it about 25-30 feet above the ground.
The cabin is no longer structurally solid, so anyone visiting should be cautious, as the railing and the platform just outside the door are starting to rot due to weather exposure.
History:
This Cabin, along with many others in the area, was built by a trail building legend known as Wulf, most known for creating and maintaining local trails like the Raven’s Bluff, Little Nicomen Peak Loop, Harrison Grind, and even the popular Dewdney Grind.
Wulf Pirang is a legend, and the places he created should be respected to the fullest. Please be respectful of this area.
Getting There:
Getting there requires an offroad capable vehicle smaller than a midsize truck, a side-by-side or smaller will get you there. If you feel like hiking you can but should expect to give yourself about two hours in and out.
