Shovel Creek Falls is a barreling waterfall on the east side of Harrison Lake, the waterfall drops into a small canyon as the water rolls and collides into many of the rock tears below.
Shovel Creek Falls is about 20 feet (6 meters) tall from the top to the bottom pool and about 35 feet (10.5 meters) wide during high water flow. The creek water is always cold and the top of the creek can carry a strong current so be sure to stay back from the creek also.
You can get a good view of the waterfall on the bridge and a better view if you walk down a small trail under a tree to the left of the waterfall, remember to be careful on this small trail as it can get slippery and falling into the water might be fatal.
The area has lots of room for camping including a great site with a view point just to the other side of the bridge. The trails around the area are great for off-roading and dirt biking so be sure to explore.
Getting There:
Getting there is a long 60 km (37 Mile) drive up the East Harrison Forest Service Road, along the drive you will pass many other great locations so keep your camera ready. After you get to the coordinates you will walk through the bush a few feet before you reach the top of the waterfall.
