North Falls is the main waterfall on the North side of Silver Falls State Park, the water features a deep recess hiking trail behind it that offers a stunning view. The waterfall plummets below into a large rock, the water and the recessed cave behind the waterfall make it the loudest in the park.
The Hike:
This quick 15-minute hike will take you down some steep stairs to one amazing waterfall, this trail is known as the North Falls Lookout Trail, its a 1 km (0.62 mile) out-and-back trail from the North Parking Lot that is generally considered an easy route.
Stats:
North Falls is 136 feet (41 meters) tall with an average width of 15 feet (4.5 Meters), and the average water volume is 100 cubic feet per second. The falls run year-round and are fed from North Silver Creek.
Getting There:
The best place to start is by parking in the North Falls parking lot just off Silver Falls Drive and hiking into the park, following the creek to the right and taking the trail between the rock face and the fence.
