This 30-plus foot drop of a Diving Board in the middle of the British Columbia forest is not for anyone, only people looking for a rush will conquer this crazy thing. It’s not just the jump, the water below can also be dangerous depending on the time of the year.
The drop into the deep creek pool below is between 30-40 feet (9-12 meters), the water is often very chilly and the only way back up is by pulling yourself back up a sketchy rope. The water rapids just before the Diving Board pool can get crazy so be careful with the time of year you decide to conquer the Norrish Creek Diving Board.
A small waterfall can be seen by walking straight down the hill after you get on the trail, the diving board will be on your right after starting the trail. The entire Norrish Creek is filled with many large water pools, some being great for kids on a hot day. Enjoy the area and be sure to pack out everything you bring!
History:
It was built in 2018 by some hardcore Pro Mountain Bikers who are also known for making some crazy jumps in the British Columbia forests. They constructed this crazy diving board with a chainsaw, hammer, nails, and some wood cut from the forest.
Getting There:
The area to aim for is Norrish Creek, just up Norrish Creek Forest Service Road, just past Dewdney Cabin Trail. Past the water treatment plant and the locked gate, if you don’t have a code for the locked gate you can park just outside the gate and hike in. That’s the only tip we will give you, happy hunting!!
Don’t forget your hiking shoes, the trail down to the Norrish Diving Board is steep.
