The beach’s dramatic cliffs and sea stacks create a sense of raw, untamed beauty that will keep you coming back for more.

As you step out of the forest and onto the sandy shore, you’ll be greeted by breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean and the Olympic Peninsula in the distance.

One of Mystic Beach’s most iconic features is its waterfall that cascades directly onto the beach. This is a favourite among photographers and a refreshing spot to cool off on a warm day. During low tide, you can also explore the tide pools filled with fascinating marine life, from sea stars to anemones. If you’re lucky, you might even spot seals, otters, or whales playing in the waves offshore.

If you’re feeling adventurous, consider exploring more of the Juan de Fuca Trail. Nearby highlights include China Beach, Sombrio Beach, and Sandcut Beach.

The Hike:

The trail winds through an old-growth rainforest filled with towering Douglas firs, western red cedars, and lush moss-covered undergrowth. As you make your way along the trail, you’ll cross wooden boardwalks and a small suspension bridge that spans over Pete Wolfe Creek.

The trail is a 2.1 km (1.3 mile) out-and-back trail that takes about 1 hour to complete.

Getting There:

Parking is located at the Mystic Beach Parking area just off Highway 14 (West Coast Road).
